Hyderabad: TISS students protest continue over hostel fee

Hyderabad: the scholars of Tata Institute of Social Sciences square measure complaining the college’s new fee structure and hostel facilities, because it is driving socio-economically underprivileged students to drop out. The protest has been occurring for 5 days since Mon with no satisfactory response from the administration.

The students claim that this year, the service supplier, CN Reddy, was chosen in a very non-transparent manner, while not consulting the scholars.

A student same that the new service supplier needs them to pay the hostel and mess charges for the whole semester direct. Earlier, the scholars accustomed pay the fee in cheap instalments.

“The administration has refused to share a replica of the contract signed with CN Reddy, and therefore the tender documents from different participants. it’s like there was no tender in any respect this year,” the scholar additional.

“The provision of paying Rs fifteen,000 as accommodation charges in 3 instalments as mentioned within the admission pointers to be reinstated… For this the institute must offer AN assurance to the service supplier, that the institute is adamant on not providing,” browse a handout issued by the TISS Students Action Committee – TOI report.
