Kolkata: non-public hospital faces negligence charge

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], June thirteen (ANI): The family of a patient has lodged a case of medical negligence against the Columbia Asia Hospital in urban center.
The family has alleged that the hospital workers infused blood of a wrong cluster whereas playing a surgery.
The case has been filed in Kolkata’s Bidhan Nagar station.
The patient, known as Baishakhi Saha, was taken to hospital once she had complained of abdominal pain. Thereafter, she underwent a surgery on June five.
The woman is currently battling for her life and is on the ventilator as post operation rather than A+ blood – that is her blood type – the hospital allegedly transfused AB+ into her body. Following that she suffered multiple organ failures.
“I admitted my married person to Columbia Asia hospital on June five. She was infused blood of a wrong cluster throughout surgery. Her lungs and kidneys ar broken. Administration is currently threatening to prevent treatment if I refuse to pay the bills. I actually have already paid Rs a pair of.5 lakh,” Baishakhi’s husband Abhijit Saha told cuckoo.
Abhijit has conjointly sent a letter to province Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asking her to require strict actions against the hospital authorities.
